What we collect

• Email address — only if you sign in. Used to send sign-in links and identify your account.
• Anonymous cookie — a random ID stored in your browser to count daily searches before sign-in.
• IP address — used for rate limiting and retained with anonymous search history to detect and prevent abuse.
• Search queries — the text you submit. Tied to your account if signed in, otherwise to your anonymous cookie and IP address.

Where your queries go

Each query is sent to two third parties to produce a profile:

• Anthropic (Claude API) — for categorization, query expansion, and synthesis. See Anthropic's privacy policy for their data handling.
• Search APIs — your query is forwarded to the Brave Search API and the Wikimedia (Wikipedia) search API to find sources. Our server makes the requests; the providers do not see your IP.

Retention

• Signed-in search history: kept until you delete your account.
• Anonymous search history, including IP address: retained indefinitely to detect and prevent abuse.
• Rate-limit counters: until the next UTC midnight.
• Cached profile results: 24 hours.

Your rights

You can delete your account and all associated data from your dashboard at any time. Anonymous search history is retained for abuse prevention and is not tied to an account, so it cannot be individually deleted. To request access to or correction of your data, email us.

Cookies

Odin uses only essential cookies: an anonymous ID for quota tracking, a session token after sign-in, and a CSRF token. No third-party analytics or trackers.
